CV

Summary

I am a Marie Curie International Research Fellow with over 14 years’ experience in Geographic Information Science, geospatial and statistical modelling, model integration and data science while working in leading universities such as University College Dublin, University of Maryland and University of Cambridge. In addition I have broad experience of working in international organizations such as US Agency of International Development, Emerging Markets Group, PA Consulting Group and Development Alternatives Inc. This has resulted in extensive academic research outputs including as author of more than 50 publications, which counts 14 peer-reviewed papers in high profile international journals. My Teaching experience includes the design of and lecturing the module “GIS for Policy and Planning” and “Intermediate GIS” for post-graduate students and in addition I have extensive experience in providing technical support to the staff and students in the areas of geospatial technologies, data collection and analysis. Based on my wide international network I have secured significant funding to date including 2 EU FP7 research funding: EU Cooperation Capacity Building: Towards Armenia’s integration into the ERA (EUR500,000), Marie Curie Global Fellowship for Career Development: Geospatial Modelling Informing Policy (EUR364,476) and Marie Curie / COFUND Research Fellowship EDGE: Big Data Driven Geo-Spatial Models Supporting Public Health (EUR 266,050).

My research interests are broad in scope but centre on the areas of GIScience, Spatial Decision Support Systems, Smart Cities, Sensors, Citizen Science and Big Data. I constantly seek to develop major teaching and research proposals with colleagues on an inter-disciplinary basis across the university, but also with international collaborators.
